WHAT WE BELIEVE / STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE WORD OF GOD We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant, authoritative, inspired Word of God. We believe that the Bible is the final authority in all matters pertaining to life. ( 1 Thess 2:13; 11 Tim 3:15-17)

THE TRINITY We believe that there is one God eternally existent in 3 Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These 3 Persons in the God-head are co-equal and are in complete unity with one another. (Matt 28:19; John 15:26)

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST We believe in the diety of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. In His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory. ( John 1:1; Matt 1:23; Heb 7:26; Acts 2:22; 1 Cor 15:3; Matt 28:6; Acts 2:33; Acts 1:11)

SALVATION We believe that mans only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. This is a free gift, not of works, and is an act of Gods saving grace through faith. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is through the work of Holy Spirit in regenerating and converting hearts, being justified by grace through faith. Man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life. ( Luke 24:47; Tit 3:5-7; Rom 10:13-15)

THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe all believers should earnestly seek the Promise of the Father; the baptism or filling with the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of man to bring conviction of sin and of righteousness, and is called 'Our Comforter and Helper" as spoken of by Christ. That it is His job to help perfect the saints through knowledge and revelation of who we are in Christ, and that we may become Christlike in our character and see apparent godly fruits in our lives as we yield unto Him. We believe He is the Giver of the gifts for both life and ministry. That He gives us power to overcome, and with baptism comes the fullness of the Spirit. We believe in the manifestation of the gifts for both the perfecting of the saints and edifying of the church. ( Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor 12:1-31; John 7:37-39) This baptism is a very distinct experience from the experience of the new birth ( Acts 10:44-46; Acts15:7-9; Acts 11:14-16)

WATER BAPTISM We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion in obedience to the Word of God. All who repent and believe on Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized, thus declaring to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matt 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10: 47-48; Rom 6:4)

HEALING We believe that divine healing and deliverance from sickness was provided by the atonement Christ made on the Cross and is a priviledge for all believers according to the will and purposes of God. ( Isa 53:4-5; Matt 8:16-17)

THE CHURCH We believe in the church as the eternal and universal Body of Christ under one headship, which is Jesus Christ. The church consists of all those who have accepted the work of the atonement. We believe in the need for a local assembly of believers for the purpose of evalgelism and edification of the body.We believe it is the responsibility of the church to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that outside evangelising, the purpose of the church is to worship God and help perfect the saints. ( Eph 4: 11-12; Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20)

THE FINAL JUDGEMENT We believe there will be a final judgement of all our works for both the just and the unjust, and that only those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour will be raised to everlasting life with Him, or receive eternal judgement with the devil and his angels who have been reserved for punishment in the lake of fire which is in hell. (Matt 25:46; Matt 28:18-20; Mark 9:43-48; Rev 19:20; Rev 20:11-15)
